Rulemaking Related to Advanced Metering Alternatives
Summary
The proposed sections would require a transmission and distribution utility (TDU) with an advance metering system (AMS) deployment plan to create a service in which a customer may choose to have electric service metered through a non-communicating meter. The proposed sections would also require the TDU to charge participants for the costs associated with the service.
