The Public Utility Commission of Texas regulates the state's electric, telecommunication, and water and sewer utilities, implements respective legislation, and provides customer assistance in resolving consumer complaints.
The Public Communications and Media Relations team works to inform and educate Texans about the duties, responsibilities and activities of the Public Utility Commission of Texans. This includes management of the PUCT's digital communications assets such as the PUCT website, social media channels ( X - formerly Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram ), audio visual production and photography.
The Division also produces the PUCT's quarterly newsletter, PUCurrenT.
The PUCT's chief press officer works with traditional and new media at the local, state, national and international levels to answer questions about the PUCT. They also work to generate media coverage of the PUCT's initiatives and activities on behalf of the state of Texas through pro-active outreach and distribution of news releases.
