Downloading and Converting

The PUCT publishes files in a variety of formats. Some of these files may require additional software. Any additional software necessary can be found from the links below and is free.

Office Online File Converters and Viewers
Installing a File Viewer Plus will allow you to read Word or Excel files if you have an older version of the respective program or if you do not have Microsoft applications at all.
Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
These files can be accessed by downloading and installing the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Once the Reader is installed the files can be viewed directly from your browser.
Tab Delimited (.txt)
This format allows users to import tab delimited data into any spreadsheet software. This format is offered as an alternative to the data that is either in Excel spreadsheets or as a searchable database.

To work with tab delimited files:

  1. Save the file locally.
    • Right click with your mouse, and select Save as (or Save link as)
    • Select the directory you want to save into or create a directory to save it to.
  2. Open your spreadsheet software.
    • Either open or import the saved file.
    • This should start an import routine - simply follow the instructions as they present themselves.
CSV Files (.csv)
This format allows users to import CSV formatted data into any spreadsheet software. This format is offered as an alternative to the data that is either in Excel spreadsheets or as a searchable database.
