The Public Utility Commission of Texas regulates the state's electric, telecommunication, and water and sewer utilities, implements respective legislation, and provides customer assistance in resolving consumer complaints.
The five-member Commission holds regular meetings that are open to the public. Unless otherwise posted, Commission meetings are held in Austin, and each meeting is livestreamed. The Commission's meetings are conducted pursuant to Texas Government Code Chapter 551 (Open Meetings Act). The commissioners may consider agenda items for which notice was properly given under the Open Meetings Act.
